As parent(s) and caregiver(s), you do your best to create a supportive environment at home, but sometimes life brings challenges that require extra support.
Early intervention is a powerful way to prevent bigger challenges later in life. I provide individual and family counseling to children (ages 10+) and teens who are navigating grief and loss, trauma, anxiety and depression, or other life hurdles. Sometimes, children and teens just need a little extra support to move through difficult seasons so they can keep growing into the healthy, resilient adults.
The first step is to schedule an appointment so we can build a clear plan for your child.
For Children (Ages 10–12): This first session is often just for the parent(s) or caregiver(s), though your child is welcome to join us for part of the meeting if they’d like. If you need to speak openly about family history or specific concerns, we will ensure there is time for us to talk without your child present.
For Teens (Ages 13–17): I invite the teen to join us for this first appointment. This helps build trust from day one and ensures they feel like an active participant in their own healing.
At this time, I only offer morning appointments and a limited amount of early afternoon appointments. Each 50-minutes long appointment is held virtually on a private, HIPAA-compliant platform, ensuring your child’s/teen's privacy and convenience.
School Attendance: If a session takes place during school hours, I can provide a Medical Excuse Note for your records. Please let me know prior to the start of the appointment so I can have this document ready for you by the end of our session.
Healing happens best when the whole family is supported. As we move forward, I will continue to check in with you (parent/caregiver) to support your child’s growth and the overall health of your family.
Our sessions are flexible and based on what your child/teen needs most in the moment:
Joint Sessions: Sometimes I may recommend that you, the parent(s)/caregiver(s) join us for part of a session to work on connecting or practicing new tools together.
Parent Check-ins: Other times, I may suggest we touch base after a few individual sessions with your child to discuss progress and how things are going at home.
The goal is to keep you involved and informed while giving your child the safe, private space they need to do their own work.
A Note on Legal Proceedings
My focus is entirely on the therapeutic well-being of your child. I am not trained in court-related consultations or custody evaluations. I cannot provide documentation or testimony for legal purposes or get involved in the legal side of family matters and/or transitions.
